Данное предположение подкрепляется тем что мы не видим как Эвер гипнотизирует персонажей, которым можно доверять Шерлок, Майкрофт, Ватсон, Молли. Заметим тот факт, что Мориарти также применял "гипноз" и превращал людей в послушных марионеток. Однако его гипноз основывался на том, что он находил болевые точки людей и ударял по ним.

Мориарти мог воспользоваться этим методом или придумать что-то получше, ведь он лучший ум планеты как-никак Мориарти Мориарти Но тогда к чему весь этот цирк? Мориарти понял, что Шерлок перешел ему дорогу и хотел изящно от него избавиться 2 сезон 3 серия , однако он понял что Шерлоку удастся выбрать.
Тогда он решил сымитировать свою смерть, чтобы Шерлок, британское правительство, MI6 отстало от него.
